UniSave ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website unisave.online and the UniSave Chrome Extension. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

Account information — email address and username when you sign up.
Saved URLs — the links you choose to save, along with metadata we scrape (title, caption, thumbnail, platform).
Collections and tags — organizational data you create inside the app.
Usage data — basic request logs for debugging (IP address, timestamp, endpoint). These are not sold or shared.

2. How We Use Your Information

To save, display, and organize your links across devices.
To generate AI-powered titles, captions, and summaries for your saved items.
To authenticate you securely via Supabase Auth.
To improve the reliability and performance of the service.

3. Chrome Extension

The UniSave Chrome Extension requests the following permissions:

Active tab / scripting — to read the URL and page metadata of the tab you are saving.
Context menus — to add a "Save to UniSave" right-click option.
Storage — to keep you logged in across browser sessions.
Notifications — to confirm when a link is saved successfully.

The extension does not read your browsing history, track pages you visit passively, or collect any data without you explicitly triggering a save action.

4. Third-Party Services

Supabase — authentication and database storage. Supabase Privacy Policy.
Groq AI — used to clean up titles and captions. Only the text of scraped metadata is sent; no personal account information is shared.
Google OAuth — optional sign-in method. We receive only your email and display name.

5. Data Retention

Your saved items, collections, and account data are stored for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual items or your entire account at any time. Deleted data is permanently removed from our database.

6. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication is handled by Supabase, which uses industry-standard security practices. We do not store passwords in plain text.

7. Children's Privacy

UniSave is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
Export your saved links at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of UniSave after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
